Now that we know what the Governor has mandated for the public schools, we can finalize plans for our reopening. Our students will return to school for in-class learning on August 31.
We are working on our list of safety measures; such as checking temperatures at the door, practicing social distancing, frequent hand washing, encouraging no physical contact, daily sanitizing, and limiting class sizes to 10 students. We are also working on online classes for parents that are not ready for their students to return, and for any student who may be sick. If you are interested in online classes, please contact the office. It will be available for middle and high school students.
Our greatest defense is to stay at home when sick. No one will be admitted to our building if they have a temperature above 100.4 degrees. We will not require masks, but anyone who wishes to wear a mask may do so.
With the new orders that are keeping public school students away from the classroom, we are receiving many calls for information about our school. We’ve also had new enrollments. I believe more people will turn to our school as the days progress.
The public schools have been a dangerous place for children; dangerous because of the liberal and the godless direction they have chosen. That’s why here at Calvary Christian School, we believe in the importance of helping children develop and grow in their faith. At our school, we can teach our children about the love of God, and why Jesus came into this world as the only Savior and hope for mankind. Even in times like this, I believe our students need the social interaction and in-person instruction that they have missed since the beginning of this crisis.
While we are taking great measures to make our school safe, our insurance carriers are requiring each student to have a waiver form signed by a parent, or guardian on file before a student can attend classes. This form is already being required at many businesses, and protects our church and school in the event of a COVID issue. All teachers and students must sign the waiver form before school begins.
Please stay in touch with us for any questions or concerns. Please know that we are praying for you and want to work together to reopen our school safely.
