Flag Ceremony

Dear Calvary School Parents,

Our flag pole is up, and the ceremony for May 10th is upon us. To make this a great day, all Middle and High School Band students should wear concert dress. Boys should wear a tie and girls should dress nicely. No jeans.

Our mayor and city officials will be in attendance, and we could get TV coverage. We want our students to shine on Tuesday, so have them dress up for this important occasion.

Elementary school students will attend the ceremony with their teachers. They will sit on the grass, so send a towel with them. I have no way of knowing how many people will attend, but if you are coming, you may want to bring a lawn chair. The ceremony will last about 1 hour, so plan accordingly. Also, the MS/HS students will be setting up and taking down after the program, so all upper school students will need to remain until we are cleaned up. Afterwards, you may take them with you.

Thank you and I look forward to seeing you Tuesday, May 10, at 1:00 p.m.

Pastor Donnie

Dear Calvary Church and School families,

As we near the end of another great year, let me first say thank you for the incredible support you have given to Calvary Christian School. The school is a ministry of Calvary Baptist Church, and the support our church has given, makes it possible for us to provide an affordable Christian education for our children. By sending your children to a Christian School, you are making an investment not just for a lifetime, but for an eternity. Thank you for giving us the opportunity to teach, encourage and pray for your students.

On Tuesday, May 10, 2022 at 1:00 p.m., we will have a historic moment for both our church and school. For the first time in our history, Calvary Baptist Church and Calvary Christian School will raise the American flag on our front lawn as a way to honor the freedom and faith that has made our nation great. With money raised by our students through our various fund-raising opportunities, and with the support of our Calvary Church Deacons, we are able to proudly display our nation’s flag. Our American Christian Honor Society students have planned a program and have invited our Mayor, and Chief of Police to join us. The Wilmington Police Department Color Guard will raise the flag as our Concert Band plays the National Anthem. It will be a very special day for all of us that make up the Calvary family, and I invite you to join us for this momentous occasion. Again, the ceremony will be Tuesday, May 10th at 1:00 p.m. on the front lawn of Calvary Baptist Church.

Thank you for being an important part of our Calvary family. I hope to see you at the ceremony, which will be held near the Calvary Baptist Church sign on 23rd Street.

God Bless You!

Pastor Donnie
